The Early Years
Anna has been playing golf since she was 12 years old. The first tournament she ever played was at Wild Wood GC in Saskatoon, where she played from the forward tees and shot 131 and 129. At the time these scores were only a little higher than her typical score, and it was just a fun thing to try. Little did she know that once she could hit the little white ball in the air she would be hooked!
She grew up with many hours of competitive dance and volleyball, but at the age of 14 decided golf was the sport for her and dove right in. She was (at the time) the youngest player to qualify and play the Canadian Women’s Amateur National Championship, which motivated her to work even harder. She went on to win countless junior and amateur tournaments in both Canada and the United States, set the still-standing Saskatchewan Provincial High School record (70) in 2009, and tie the record for winning 5 Saskatchewan Amateur titles with her final win as an amateur in 2015.
Anna earned an athletic scholarship to The University of Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time playing for the Gator’s, she helped her team catch a win while making a comeback from 19th place with a final round of 67 to win the individual title.
The Professional Years
She turned professional in 2015 and moved to Orlando, Florida to work with her coach and be close to the mini tours where she would make her start. She competed in pro tours and events across the USA, Canada, Australia, Caribbean, and Taiwan. Two professional wins later, she championed at least one event at every level of golf she competed in.
There are many memories Anna will cherish for years to come, but one of her favourite weeks on tour was when she got the opportunity to compete in the 2018 LPGA CP Canadian Women’s Open held at Wascana GCC in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was able to be an ambassador for Saskatchewan and loved that she had the chance to help grow the game of golf in her home province as well as compare her game to the best in the world. Anna competed as a full-time playing professional for roughly 6 years before deciding she wanted to work with people instead of working solely on her golf game.
